Swanbourne Primary is a very active school, where a number of children from school are involved in Club Sport, which is coached, managed and co-ordinated by volunteer parents at school and often training takes place at Swanbourne School grounds.

Each year in school time Swanbourne Primary School year 5 & 6’s participate in the Lightning Carnival where we compete against the A Division Schools (these include Rosalie, Nedlands, Dalkeith and North Cottesloe).
Swanbourne Primary School Netball Club is a registered club in the Perth Netball Association competition. Games are played at Matthews Netball Centre for years 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 on either a Friday afternoon or Saturday Morning. Swanbourne Netball Club is an all-inclusive Social Netball Club, available to Swanny kids along with other local school kids wishing to play. The club is coached, managed and co-ordinated by volunteer parents and both male and female players are welcome.

To be held on the school netball courts on a day and time that suits each team. Training usually commences in the last few weeks of term 1.

When: Games are weekly, starting 7th or 8th of May, 2021. Year 2/3 games are played on Friday afternoon at 4:15pm, Year 4 and 5 games are played at either 5:15 or 6:15pm and Year 6 games are held on Saturday.

2021 Enrolments Minkey Hockey Minkey (Kindy to Year 4) is a modified form of hockey designed to introduce children to hockey. The games and rules are changed to ensure a simple and safe version of the game of hockey. The game is played on a smaller field with two 20 minute halves with a 5 minute interval. Goals are not recorded in the Minkey competition as skill development is the main objective. Swanbourne Primary School participates in the Minkey competition, run by the Westside Wolves club. With around 10 teams registered each year, Swanbourne tops other schools in participation.

Who can play?
Minkey is for boys and girls from Kindy to 4. It does not matter if the players have not played before.
The competition is split into 4 levels:
Kindy skill-based session commencing at 9am
Pre-primary/Year 1 (Pups) – 7 players per side plus subs - 9am game
Year 2 (Cubs) – 7 players per side plus subs - 10:15am game
Year 3 (Warewolves) – 9 players per side plus subs (larger playing field) - 10:15am game
Year 4 (Wolverines) - 9 players per side plus subs (larger playing field) - 9am game When is Minkey played? The 11 game season commences Term 2 around the first week of May and concludes in August in Term 3, with a break for the WA Day long weekend and 3 weekends during the July School holidays.
Held at College Park, Princess Road on Saturday mornings.

Cost Fees are around $180 per player and are inclusive of Coaching Information, Sport Insurance, Ground Hire and Marking and the provision of an Umpire for each game. All players must register online with payment to be made at the time of booking.

All players MUST have mouthguards. No mouthguard, no play.
