Extracurriculum Activities

Swanbourne Primary is a very active school, where a number of children from school are involved in Club Sport, which is coached, managed and co-ordinated by volunteer parents at school and often training takes place at Swanbourne School grounds.  

Please find below a number of club sports that your child might be interested in, along with the contact for that particular sport and training days and game days.

Swanbourne Primary School Netball Club is a registered club in the Perth Netball Association competition. Games are played at Matthews Netball Centre for Years 2 – 6 on a Friday afternoon or Saturday Morning. The club is coached and managed by volunteer parents and both male and female players are welcome.

Training sessions are held on the school netball courts on a day and time that suits each team.
Perth Netball Association holds school holiday clinics in the April and July holidays. Further information can be found at www.perthnetball.com.au

Competition

Games are played weekly during winter, starting in May and finishing in August. No games are played during the school holidays. All games are held at Matthews Netball Centre, Salvado Road & Selby Street, Jolimont.
• Year 2 and 3 games are played on Friday at 4:15pm or 5:05pm
• Year 4 and 5 games are played on Friday at 5:05pm or 6:00pm
• Year 6 games are played at 9:00am on Saturday morning.

Minkey is a modified form of hockey. Swanbourne Primary School participates in the competition run by the Westside Wolves from Kindy through to year 4. The teams have both boys and girls.

Competition

The season starts at the beginning of Term 2 with 11 games in total. Games are played at College Park in Nedlands on Saturday mornings, with no games on long weekends or school holidays.

Volunteers: Parents are required to be involved as coaches, managers and to coordinate the club.
